Rev. A. O. Lundin was the Baptist minister in New Sweden, Maine from June 1905 to September 1910. According to a newspaper clipping in the Bangor Daily News dated October 2, 1970, he also pastored at the Baptist church in Stockholm, Maine.

It was during his ministry in 1907 that both the newly built horse stables and the parsonage  were lost to fire. The stables were rebuilt immediately in 1907. The Baptist parsonage was rebuilt in 1908.

During Rev. Lundin’s years in New Sweden, it was decided to build the Jemtland chapel. The chapel was located in the northern part of New Sweden, about five miles north from the First Baptist Church.

Rev. Lundin married a New Sweden girl, Hilma Jepson, daughter of Mons and Elna Jepson who had eight other children. (Mons (1847-1923) immigrated to Rhode Island from Sweden in 1871 and then arrived in New Sweden, ME with his wife in 1875. They are listed in the 1880 New Sweden census with four young children.)

Rev. Lundin and his wife apparently moved on to Meriden, CT in 1910 and from there went to Alexandria, Minn. on Feb 28, 1913.

Rev. Lundin resided with his daughter and family in St. Paul, MN when he was 94 years old in 1971.

Hilma Jepson Lundin died in 1970 in St. Paul, MN.
